DONATION FOR THE MAMA BIRDIE CHILDCARE FUND
The Mama Birdie Childcare Fund provides safe and accessible childcare at professional development events. Started by Buffalo native, Janna Willoughby-Lohr, founder of Papercraft Miracles, the Mama Birdie Childcare Fund aims to support moms in their personal, professional and leadership development goals by alleviating the mental load of finding and affording childcare.
The name of the fund has a very special meaning. Janna’s daughter’s middle name is Birdie and she was given that name as a nod to Janna’s mother, Robin, who passed away in 2002. As a single mother, Robin often struggled to find and afford childcare in order to pursue her passions. Despite losing her mother at just 20 years old, Janna has been very privileged to have a wonderful village of other Mama Birdies who have helped her to grow and thrive into adulthood, and who now provide care to her children while she goes out into the world pursuing her passions and developing herself as a leader. The Mama Birdie Childcare Fund allows her to pay it forward to all the mamas who don’t have that village.
